Mentoring for advanced students and emerging photographers is available on a one on one or one on two basis with Bob Kersey.

A mentor unit is 12 hours and may comprise 2x6 hour days or 3x4 hour sessions spread apart. Mentoring costs $50 per hour.

According to requirements, mentoring may take place at Black Mountain, in the Black Mountain darkroom and studio, or on location. The clients immediate needs are discussed and a syllabus is set and followed. We will cover some of the categories below.

Pioneers and leaders of photography.
Portfolio review.
Problem prints.
Examination of negatives.
Subjects and themes.
Exposure.
Visual vibration, the difference between music and noise.
Tonal composition.
Image control (including filtration).
The intelligence of the frame.
Processing.
Fine printing techniques.
Archival methods.
Print finishing.
Presentation.
Exhibiting.
Assignments, if applicable.
Educators and suppliers.

A tailor made programme is devised from the above subject matter with the intention of achieving a stated objective. Work forwarded in advance will be helpful.
